Lord Ramsbotham

David Ramsbotham was Her Majesty's Chief Inspector of Prisons between December 1995 and August 2001. A former army general, he became Chairman of an NHS Hospital Trust before being appointed to the Inspectorate. He was made Crossbench peer in 2005. He is also the author of Prisongate, published in 2003.

Bob Duncan – a retired prison governor.

Eric Allison – Writer, journalist and ex-prisoner who writes on prison issues for
‘The Guardian’.

Ann Creighton – Ann has had a long career in the charity sector. She is a former Director of Prisoners’ Education Trust. Her interests include offender learning.

Kwasi Kamasa - Company Secretary(CLG) - Kwasi has a legal background. He is currently Director for Development at Home-Start International. He has experience of both the statutory and the voluntary sectors including work as a Project Officer with Haringey Council, Programme Manager for Africa Educational Trust, and Manager of Hackney Volunteer Centre.

John MacGregor – A former Dean of the University of Kent in Brussels and a former diplomat. On graduating from university, John trained as a teacher and he maintains a close interest in education and social questions.

Tom Robson - a member of the National Executive of the POA, the Professional Trades Union for Prison, Correctional and Secure Psychiatric Workers.

Julia Rowlandson – an experienced teacher of children with specific learning difficulties (SpLD) and an educational manager. She now works as an educational consultant which has involved lecturing in SpLD and teaching basic skills to Young Offenders.

David Morgan – son of Shannon Trust’s founder, Christopher Morgan. David is a returning trustee and runs his own literacy company in Oxford.

Louise Ayling – Company Treasurer (CLG) – Director of Finance, Kingston College
